Belt Press

  • Used for solid/liquid separation processes
  • Involve the passing of slurry, sandwiched between filtering cloths and two tensioned belts through a series of rollers
  • Feed could be sludge or slurry, being converted into filtrate and solid cake

For dewatering municipal surplus sludge to 20-35% dewatered sludge. Particularly efficient for dewatering sludge and other suspensions, the Belt Press carries the slurry between two rotating sieve belts which travel around roughly 14 press rollers of decreasing diameter until the pressure increases to 20 bar, depending on applications. Features of the belt press is that:

  1. Large filter area for pre-thickening
  2. Press cake has the ideal, non-sticky texture for further treatment
